Every tier starts with a GP consultation and physical examination, then blood tests, body measurements and a 12-lead ECG.
Higher tiers add a chest X-ray, lung function and hormones (Advanced, £999), gender-specific ultrasound and tumour markers (Elite, from £1,850), or a full body MRI (Ultimate, from £2,950).
Results take 3 to 10 working days depending on the tier, and every tier includes an in-person review of your results with your doctor.
Advanced, Elite and Ultimate also include 4 GP appointments to use across the year, which you can share with immediate family.

What happens at your appointment?
Your GP examines you first, then the nurse takes measurements, bloods and an ECG; any imaging is arranged at a partner centre nearby.

Before
Keep taking regular medicines, arrive hydrated and fast only if we give you a specific instruction for your tests. Bring any recent results or letters. Book your visit.

At the clinic
Your GP takes your history and examines you. Then come the measurements, blood draw and ECG at 117a Harley Street.

Results review
Your doctor goes through the full report with you in person and says which findings need action, monitoring or nothing at all. The review is arranged when you book your MOT.
Results
How long do MOT results take?
Results take 3 to 10 working days depending on the tier, and your in-person review is booked as soon as every report is back.
Essential and Advanced reports are usually complete in 3–5 working days, Elite in 5–7 and Ultimate in 7–10. Book online if you already know the tier.
If a result needs repeating, a risk factor needs treatment or a scan needs specialist review, the same clinic arranges the next step, and follow-up can stay with our private GP team. A single marker can be repeated later through our private blood tests.
Continuity of care
What follow-up care is included?
Every MOT includes an in-person review of your results, and Advanced, Elite and Ultimate add 4 GP appointments to use across the 12 months after your screening, which you can share with immediate family.
The appointments are unlimited in duration and are with the same Harley Street practice, so your care does not stop at the report. Use them when:
a marker needs repeating or a result needs a further conversation;
a risk factor needs managing or a plan needs adjusting;
someone in your immediate family needs to see a GP.
Prescriptions, medication, repeat tests and further investigations are charged separately. Book an Advanced MOT or above to include the year of GP appointments.

Why have a doctor-led MOT?
Because most people have at least one result outside range, and a doctor decides whether it matters: 93% of completed MOTs at Medical Express Clinic had at least one blood result outside its reference range.
Your GP reads every result alongside your history, medicines and examination. If a finding points to cardiology, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology or imaging, we refer you through the specialist network built over more than 40 years on Harley Street. You are not left with a report that says something may be wrong but gives you no practical route forward. Book a doctor-led MOT.

What can a health MOT not rule out?
A health MOT cannot rule out every future illness; it shows your current risks and findings, and a doctor decides what they mean together.
New, severe or worsening symptoms need a GP or urgent assessment first, not a screening MOT.
A family history of cancer may change which tests a doctor discusses with you; tumour markers and MRI cannot rule cancer in or out on their own.
A result outside the reference range can be temporary, need no treatment, or be affected by medicines and supplements.

Choose the tier by the question you want answered. Essential suits a first doctor-led baseline. Advanced adds respiratory, fitness and hormone assessment. Age, symptoms, family history and the question you want answered should guide the choice.
Q.How is this different from an NHS Health Check?
The NHS Health Check is a cardiovascular risk check offered to eligible adults aged 40-74. Medical Express Clinic MOTs are private doctor-led assessments with a physical examination, broader laboratory testing and optional imaging by tier. Neither type of screening can rule out every condition.
Q.Do I need to fast?
Fast only if Medical Express Clinic gives you a specific instruction for your selected tests, continue regular medicines unless the clinic tells you otherwise, and drink water before attending.
Q.How long do results take?
Essential and Advanced usually take 3-5 working days, Elite 5-7 working days and Ultimate 7-10 working days. Your in-person review is arranged when the relevant reports are complete.
Q.What report will I receive after my health MOT?
You receive a secure interactive digital report of more than 30 pages, with longer reports for higher tiers and added investigations. Your doctor reviews every result before meeting you in person to go through the report, answer questions and agree any next step.
Q.Are GP appointments included after a health MOT?
Every tier includes an in-person review of your results, and Advanced, Elite and Ultimate include 4 GP appointments, unlimited in duration, to use across the 12 months after screening. Q.What happens if a result is outside range?
Your GP interprets it with the rest of your results, medical history and examination. The next step may be no action, monitoring, lifestyle advice, treatment, repeat testing or specialist referral. A laboratory result is not a diagnosis by itself.
