Visa Medicals London
FCDO-registered doctors complete the full panel, chest X-ray and signed certificate in a single Harley Street appointment — fixed prices from £325, same-week slots.
We cover Saudi Arabia, the UAE, China, Kuwait, Qatar, South Africa and more, typically returning your signed report within 3 to 5 working days — with clear guidance if you have an existing condition, so the embassy accepts your report first time.
What is a visa medical?
A visa medical is the medical examination an embassy or sponsor requires before it issues a work, residence or long-stay visa. It confirms you are in good health and clear of the communicable diseases that destination screens for. At Medical Express Clinic, an FCDO-registered doctor completes the full panel and arranges your chest X-ray in a single appointment. If all results are normal, the same doctor signs the certificate, usually within 3 to 5 working days. If any health issues are discovered, they will reach out to you directly to discuss pathways forward for a successfully completed medical.
Who needs a visa medical?
- Workers mobilising to the Gulf, Asia or Africa on employer-sponsored visas
- Family members joining a relative already on a residence permit
- Students heading to universities that require a medical, such as China and Malaysia
- Seafarers and offshore crew needing pre-deployment clearance
- Remote workers on schemes such as the Barbados Welcome Stamp
If your destination is not listed in our packages above, send us your embassy form and we will confirm the requirements and price.
Certificate validity and urgent deadlines
Validity varies by country: most embassies accept a report for 3 months from the date of signing, though some, such as China, allow up to 6 months. Book close to your submission date so the certificate is comfortably in date when you lodge your application.
Expedited turnaround is available from 48 hours for an additional £100, where the destination accepts it and where our clinic can facilitate an expedited report based on your requirements. Please contact us via phone or email to discuss the scope of your medical and your deadlines.
How It Works
Book Your Appointment
Schedule your examination as early as possible in your visa application process. This allows time to accommodate all requirements and resolve any medical queries before your visa deadline.
Send Your Documentation
Please email your embassy forms and requirements before your appointment. Some countries require tests beyond the standard package, and reviewing your paperwork in advance ensures we can complete everything in a single visit.
Attend Your Examination
Your appointment takes approximately one hour. This includes consultation with our doctor, physical examination, and any required tests. Chest X-rays are conducted at a radiology facility within a five-minute walk of our clinic.
Receive Your Certificate
We complete and sign your medical report, ready for submission with your visa application. Most results are returned within 3 to 5 working days. Expedited processing is available for an additional £100.
What to Bring
You must bring your passport
We cannot proceed without your original passport. If your embassy has provided specific medical forms, please bring these with you to your appointment.
Why Medical Express Clinic
NHS GPs rarely complete embassy-format visa medicals, and arranging the X-ray and bloods separately can take weeks. We bring the whole process into one Harley Street appointment:
- FCDO-registered doctors who sign reports embassies accept first time
- Established on Harley Street since 1984, with tens of thousands of visa medicals completed
- Fixed prices from £325, with the chest X-ray at a partner facility five minutes away
- Clear guidance when you have an existing health condition or your embassy adds extra tests
Same-week appointments are usually available, Monday to Friday. Book online or call 020 7499 1991.
