Expert Women's Health Care
Medical Express Clinic provides comprehensive gynaecological care led by Mr Hikmat Naoum, Consultant Gynaecologist. With over 40 years of clinical experience and fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Mr Naoum offers expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of women's health concerns.
Mr Hikmat Naoum, MB ChB MSc FRCOG
Mr Naoum was appointed Senior Consultant Gynaecologist at Oxford University NHS Trust in 2000. He qualified in 1984 and completed his medical training at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, subsequently obtaining specialist qualifications in diagnostic ultrasound and prenatal genetics at UCL.
He performs ultrasound scans in-house during your consultation when clinically indicated, providing immediate diagnostic information without the need for a separate appointment.
Conditions & Concerns
Pelvic Pain and Discomfort
Investigation and management of acute and chronic pelvic pain, including assessment for endometriosis, ovarian cysts and adhesions.
Abnormal Bleeding
Heavy periods, irregular bleeding, intermenstrual bleeding and postmenopausal bleeding. Ultrasound assessment and treatment planning in a single appointment.
Fertility Consultations
Initial fertility assessment for individuals and couples. Investigation of difficulties conceiving, with referral to specialist fertility services where appropriate.
Emergency Gynaecology
Acute pelvic pain and heavy bleeding requiring urgent assessment. Same-week appointments available.
Early Pregnancy
Consultations for pregnancy-related concerns up to the third trimester.
Genital Warts removal
Diagnosis and removal of HPV-related genital warts using hyfrecator treatment. This service is available for both women and men.
Contraception Services
Mr Naoum provides fitting and removal of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). All procedures are performed with a chaperone from our nursing team.
Intrauterine Devices (IUD/IUS)
We fit both copper (non-hormonal) and hormonal coils. We keep T-Safe, T-Safe Mini, Mirena and Kyleena in stock, so there is no need to source your own device.
- Copper IUD: Hormone-free, effective for up to 10 years.
- Hormonal IUS: Effective for 5-6 years, can reduce heavy bleeding.
Contraceptive Implant
Nexplanon is a small flexible rod inserted under the skin of your upper arm, providing contraception for up to 3 years. Fitting and removal are performed in a single visit.
Menopause Services
Dr Penelope Sheehan, GP with special interest in menopause, offers consultations on Mondays and Wednesdays. A comprehensive menopause assessment is available.
Cervical Screening
Private smear tests are available with Mr Naoum or our experienced GPs. Results are returned within 2 to 3 working days.

No. You can book directly with our clinic without a referral from your regular GP.
Q.Can I have an ultrasound at my appointment?
Yes. Mr Naoum performs diagnostic ultrasound on-site during your consultation when clinically indicated, at no additional charge.
Q.Can my partner attend a fertility consultation?
Yes. Mr Naoum sees couples together for fertility consultations to discuss your history and plan investigations.
Q.Is a chaperone present during procedures?
Yes. All examinations and procedures are chaperoned by a member of our nursing team to ensure your comfort and dignity.
Q.Can I have my coil fitted at the same appointment?
Yes. Consultation and fitting are typically completed in a single visit, as we keep devices in stock.
Q.Do you keep coils and implants in stock?
Yes. We stock T-Safe, T-Safe Mini, Mirena, Kyleena and Nexplanon devices.
Q.Do you treat men for genital warts?
Yes. Our genital warts removal service using hyfrecator treatment is available for both women and men.
