What is a full body MOT, and what do all tiers include?

A full body MOT is a doctor-led health assessment combining blood testing, a physical examination and a results consultation, with the higher tiers adding imaging and specialist input. Every tier at Medical Express Clinic includes a GP consultation and physical examination, blood tests analysed by an accredited laboratory, and a follow-up consultation where your doctor explains the results and any next steps. What changes between tiers is the depth of testing: more blood markers, added investigations such as chest X-ray, lung function, ultrasound or MRI, and, from Advanced upwards, follow-up GP access and, at Elite and Ultimate, specialist review.

What does the Essential MOT include, and who is it for?

The Essential MOT (£495) is the baseline tier: a GP consultation, physical examination, 12-lead ECG and body composition analysis, alongside 60+ health markers and measurements, including full blood count, kidney and liver function, cholesterol and triglycerides, glucose and HbA1c, thyroid function (TSH and FT4), iron and ESR. It is a doctor-led baseline for adults of any age from 18 who have no new symptoms, takes 45 to 60 minutes, and results are usually ready in 3 to 5 working days. What does the Advanced MOT add for £999?

The Advanced MOT (£999) adds a chest X-ray, spirometry (lung function) and VO2 max testing to the Essential scope, along with a fuller hormone profile (including LH, FSH, prolactin, testosterone, oestradiol, SHBG and FAI), vitamin D and B12, and more detailed thyroid testing, bringing the total to 75+ markers. It also includes one year of follow-up GP access: four GP consultations, unlimited in duration, for use in the 12 months from screening. What does the Elite MOT add, and why does it cost more?

The Elite MOT costs more because it adds consultant-reviewed ultrasound imaging and, for women, a specialist gynaecological consultation. Both versions add the CEA tumour marker. For men (£1,850), it adds abdominal, pelvic and testicular ultrasound and, for men over 40, a PSA blood test, with an optional prostate examination. For women (£2,095), it adds a gynaecologist consultation, cervical smear, trans-vaginal and pelvic ultrasound, a mammogram and the CA-125 tumour marker. What does the Ultimate MOT include?

The Ultimate MOT (from £2,950) adds a full-body MRI of the brain, spine, chest, abdomen and pelvis at a partner imaging centre, plus tumour markers, gluten sensitivity and full iron profiles, on top of the broadest blood panel of the four tiers at 100+ markers and measurements. For men, the MRI replaces standard X-ray and ultrasound. Results usually take 7 to 10 working days. An MRI can show structural change that blood tests cannot, but it is not a whole-body all-clear.
