Q.Do I need a GP referral for minor surgery?
No. You can book a surgical consultation directly. If your GP has referred you, please bring the letter. Our consultant will assess your lesion and discuss the best approach at your consultation.
Q.What types of growths can you remove?
We remove moles, cysts (sebaceous and epidermoid), lipomas, skin tags, warts, and ingrown toenails. We also perform tissue biopsies for diagnostic purposes. If your lesion requires specialist plastic surgery, we will advise you at the consultation.
Q.Is the procedure painful?
All procedures are performed under local anaesthetic, so you should feel no pain during the removal itself. You may feel a brief sting when the anaesthetic is injected. Most patients describe the experience as far more comfortable than expected.
Q.Will removed moles be sent for histology?
Yes. All excised tissue is sent to our accredited histopathology laboratory for microscopic examination. Results are typically available within 5-7 working days. This is standard practice and ensures nothing concerning is missed.
Q.How much does private mole removal cost?
A surgical consultation costs £200, which includes assessment and procedure planning. Mole and cyst removal starts from £250, and skin tag removal from £150. Histology is included where clinically indicated.
