Well Man Screening
Specialised health assessments for men. Our Well Man screenings are based on our General Health MOT packages, tailored specifically for male health needs including prostate health and hormone profiling.
When did you last have a proper check-up?
Most men don't see a doctor until something goes wrong. By then, conditions like high cholesterol, early-stage prostate changes, or hormonal decline may have been developing quietly for years. A structured health screen catches what you can't feel yet.
Our Well Man packages range from a focused baseline check to a full-body investigation with MRI and genetic markers. Every screening is carried out at our Harley Street clinic by experienced doctors, with results typically back within 24-48 hours.
What is a Well Man screening?
A Well Man screening is a structured health assessment designed for male physiology, covering cardiovascular risk, prostate health, hormone levels, and organ function through a combination of blood tests, physical examination, and diagnostic imaging. Think of it as a systematic check of everything that matters, before symptoms give you a reason to worry.
Why bother if you feel fine?
Because most of the conditions that kill men in their 50s and 60s are silent in their 30s and 40s.
High blood pressure has no symptoms until it causes damage. Elevated PSA can indicate prostate changes years before you'd notice anything. Testosterone decline is gradual enough that most men write it off as ageing. Cholesterol doesn't announce itself. Neither does early-stage diabetes.
The point of screening isn't that something is wrong. It's that if something is developing, catching it now gives you the widest range of options and the best outcomes. If everything comes back clear, you've got genuine peace of mind, not the kind where you're just hoping for the best.
We screen hundreds of men every year at this clinic. Most are in their 30s to 60s. Most feel fine. That's the whole point.

What every package includes
Regardless of which level you choose:
A face-to-face consultation with a senior GP who reviews your medical history, lifestyle, and family history before any tests begin. Your doctor tailors the examination to your specific risk profile.
A full physical examination. Blood pressure, heart and lung auscultation, abdominal palpation, and testicular examination where appropriate. Every examination follows our chaperoned clinical protocol. You can request a male or female doctor.
A clear, written report of your results in plain English. Not a jargon-heavy PDF that leaves you guessing what the numbers mean.
A follow-up discussion with your doctor to review findings and agree on next steps. If anything needs further investigation, we refer directly to the appropriate specialist - cardiologist, urologist, endocrinologist - within days.
On the day
Wear comfortable clothing and arrive well-hydrated for your sample. If any special preparation is needed for bespoke packages we'll let you know. No need to bring anything specific, but if you have previous blood test results or a GP summary, it's useful context.
Fast for 10-12 hours before your appointment (water is fine) for the most accurate cholesterol and glucose readings. We recommend booking a morning slot.
We're at 117a Harley Street, a few minutes' walk from Oxford Circus, Regent's Park, and Bond Street stations.
Why screen at a CQC-regulated clinic?
Health screenings are only as good as the people conducting them and the labs analysing the results.
Your blood is drawn by experienced professionals and exams and measurements are conducted in a proper clinic - not a hotel conference room or via a home testing kit. Samples go to UKAS-accredited laboratories, held to the same standard as NHS hospital labs and independently audited every year. Ultrasound and imaging are conducted at partner imaging centres we've been working with extensively and are reported by consultant-grade specialists.
We've been on Harley Street for over 40 years. Our doctors have seen thousands of screening results and know what warrants concern and what doesn't. That clinical judgement - in knowing when a slightly elevated marker is meaningful and when it isn't - is the difference between useful screening and unnecessary anxiety.

£2,950Common Questions
Q.How do I know which package to choose?
Under 40 with no specific concerns: Essential or Advanced. Over 40 or noticing changes in energy or mood: Advanced or Elite. Family history of cancer or prostate issues: Elite or Ultimate. Want the most comprehensive investigation available: Ultimate. Still unsure? Call us on 020 7499 1991 and we'll talk it through.
Q.How much does a private health screening cost in the UK?
Our Well Man packages start at £495 for the Essential screen and go up to £2,950 for the Ultimate with full-body MRI. All prices include the GP consultation, examination, laboratory analysis, and results review. There are no hidden fees.
Q.How long until I get results?
Most blood results are back within 24-48 hours. Imaging reports (ultrasound, X-ray) are typically same-day or next-day. MRI results take 5-7 working days. Your doctor will contact you to discuss findings once the full picture is available.
Q.What happens if something abnormal is found?
Your doctor will explain the finding, whether it needs further investigation, and what the recommended next steps are. If you need a specialist, we refer directly - usually within days. You won't be left with an abnormal result and no clear plan.
Q.Can I add individual tests to a package?
Yes. If there's a specific test not included in your chosen package, we can usually add it. Discuss this before you book your appointment for specialist imaging like MRI or CT scanning, with your doctor at the start of your appointment.
Q.What age should I start screening?
We recommend a baseline screen from around 30, with more comprehensive screening from 40 onwards. If you have a family history of heart disease, cancer, or diabetes, earlier and more detailed screening is sensible.
