Dubai & UAE Visa Medical, London: the direct answer
A UAE visa medical is the fitness-to-work examination required by the United Arab Emirates for residency, employment and dependant visas. The Medical Express Clinic package covers physical examination, chest X-ray, HIV and full hepatitis B and C screening for £450 fixed, with the signed certificate typically returned within 3 to 5 working days.
A UAE residency or work visa application includes a pre-arrival medical examination to confirm fitness to work and screen for communicable diseases. While many candidates also complete a second medical inside the UAE through Tasheel-approved centres, completing the FCDO-recognised pre-departure examination in London removes the risk of a visa being delayed by an unexpected health flag at the border.
Our Harley Street clinic has signed UAE visa medicals for residency applicants, mobilising workers and family dependants for decades. The £450 package covers the full embassy panel with the doctor consultation, chest X-ray and laboratory tests completed in a single appointment.

Common visa routes
What happens at your appointment
On the day
The full appointment takes approximately one hour, including the on-site doctor consultation, blood draws, urinalysis and the chest X-ray at the partner radiology facility a short walk from the clinic.
Most UAE employers run a second short medical at a Tasheel or DHA centre on arrival. The London report is used as supporting evidence of pre-departure fitness and to fast-track the Emirates ID process. We sign the report on Medical Express Clinic letterhead with our FCDO doctor stamp.
What to bring
- •Original passport with at least 6 months validity.
- •Visa application reference number or sponsor name if available.
- •Recent passport-style photo if your sponsor requested one (rare, but useful).
- •Tasheel printout or PRO email if your employer has prepared one.
Report turnaround and validity
Signed medical reports are typically ready within 3 to 5 working days. Expedited turnaround is available for an additional £100 where the destination allows it, with most expedited reports issued within 48 hours of attendance.
UAE pre-arrival medicals are typically accepted by employers for 3 months from signing, though the on-arrival Tasheel medical refreshes most clinical parameters.
Common embassy add-ons
- •Drug screening for safety-critical roles (oil, gas, construction).
- •Audiometry and visual acuity for licence-linked roles such as drivers.
Common pitfalls to avoid
- !Free-zone employers occasionally request additional tests not on the standard UAE panel. Send your sponsor's medical form before booking so we can confirm any extras.
- !Reports for Dubai DHA submissions sometimes require attestation. We can guide you on whether your sponsor will accept the London report as-is.

+£100Common Questions
Q.How much does a UAE visa medical cost in London?
The fixed price for the UAE / Dubai pre-arrival medical is £450 and includes the doctor consultation, chest X-ray at our partner facility, HIV screening, hepatitis B and C screening, and the signed medical certificate.
Q.Do I still need a Tasheel medical inside the UAE?
Yes. Most UAE employers run a separate short medical at a Tasheel or DHA centre to issue the Emirates ID. The London pre-arrival medical is used to evidence fitness to travel, support sponsor onboarding and fast-track the Tasheel step on arrival.
Q.Is the London report accepted by my UAE employer?
FCDO panel doctor reports prepared in London are routinely accepted by UAE employers and free zones as pre-arrival medicals. If your sponsor has a specific form, send it to us before booking and we will sign it on the day.
Q.Can a female applicant be tested for pregnancy?
Yes. Pregnancy testing is included where requested or where your sponsor's form requires it. There is no additional fee for the urine pregnancy test on the UAE panel.
Q.Are your doctors approved to sign visa medicals?
Yes. Our doctors are registered with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and have completed tens of thousands of visa medical examinations across every destination listed on our website.
Q.Where is the chest X-ray taken?
The chest X-ray is performed at a partner radiology facility a five-minute walk from the clinic. The cost is included in the package price and our team books the slot for you on the day.
Q.I have an existing health condition. Will it cause issues?
Existing diagnoses, recent surgery and regular medication do not automatically affect your visa medical. Tell us when you book and we will guide you on documentation so the embassy accepts the report first time.
Q.Can our company set up a corporate account for visa medicals?
Yes. We open corporate accounts for HR and global mobility teams sending staff abroad, with direct invoicing, payment on account and 30-day credit terms by arrangement. Most accounts are live within a few working days of the first booking. Email info@medicalexpressclinic.co.uk or call 020 7499 1991 to set one up.
Q.Can you handle a group of employees mobilising together?
Yes. We routinely run block bookings for project teams, with rolling capacity, a dedicated corporate account manager and embassy paperwork managed centrally so reports come back in the format your sponsor or visa house expects. For larger groups, on-site assessments at your offices are available for the routine elements of the medical.
