Contact UsWhat is HPV?
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a highly common group of viruses. While many strains are harmless, 'high-risk' types are responsible for 99.7% of cervical cancers and can also cause anal, penile, and head/neck cancers.
The Importance of Vaccination
Vaccination is most effective when administered before becoming sexually active, but it still provides significant protection for adults. At Medical Express Clinic, we use Gardasil 9, which protects against the four original strains (6, 11, 16, 18) plus five additional high-risk types.
Who Should Get Vaccinated?
- •Children & Teenagers: Routinely offered from age 12-13, but available from age 9.
- •Young Adults: Highly recommended up to age 25 if missed in school.
- •MSM & Transgender: Specific groups at higher risk are strongly advised to seek protection.
- •Adults: Sexually active adults who wish to reduce their risk of new infections.
