The Evolution of Health Screening: Why We Upgraded Our Health Screening Clinic for 2026
We have offered private health screening from Harley Street for over two decades. In that time, we have learned a great deal about what patients actually need from a health check, what adds genuine value and what is simply unnecessary.
For 2026, we have redesigned our health screening packages based on that experience. The changes reflect how preventative medicine has evolved, what our patients have asked for, and what the evidence tells us about early detection.
This post explains what has changed and why.
What We Changed
A simpler structure
Previously, our packages were divided by age (under 40 and over 40) as well as by comprehensiveness. This made sense in theory. Younger patients have different risk profiles to older ones, and screening recommendations do vary by age.
In practice, we found that many younger patients wanted the more thorough investigations that we included in our health screenings for older age groups. They were not interested in a basic check. They wanted reassurance and were willing to invest in it.
In response, we removed the age-based tiers entirely. Our packages are now organised into four levels: Essential, Advanced, Elite, and Ultimate, each available in male and female versions. You choose the level of investigation that suits your needs, regardless of your age.
New investigations
We have added several options that were not previously available:
- Full body MRI scanning is now included in our Ultimate package. MRI provides detailed imaging of organs, soft tissues, and structures throughout the body without radiation. It can detect abnormalities that would not be identified through physical examination or blood tests alone.
- Targeted cancer screening has been expanded across our packages, with tumour markers and imaging investigations appropriate to each tier.
- Memory and cognitive assessment is now available for patients concerned about early signs of cognitive decline or with a family history of dementia. This is delivered through our specialist Memory Clinic, led by Prof Arshad Rather, Consultant Geriatrician.
- Enhanced blood panels across all tiers now include additional markers for inflammation, metabolic health, and mineral/nutritional status.
Full customisation
Every patient is different. Some have specific concerns based on family history. Others want to add particular tests that are not included in their chosen package.
One of the great benefits of our many decades of experience here on Harley Street means we have long-established links to the highest quality partners and specialist centres. Using this knowledge and experience, we can create bespoke Full Body MOT packages to suit your specific medical needs.
If you want to add cardiac imaging to an Advanced screen, or include genetic markers in an Elite package, we can accommodate that. If you want to include an investigation that we don't list as part of our packages - we can arrange this for you. Speak to our team prior to booking and we will tailor your screening accordingly.
A new top tier
The Ultimate package is new for 2026. It represents the most comprehensive non-invasive health assessment we offer, combining full body MRI, advanced blood analysis, cardiac screening, and consultant review.
This tier exists for patients who want the highest level of investigation available. It is thorough, but it is not excessive. Every inclusion is clinically justified and chosen because it adds meaningful information about your health.
What Has Not Changed
Pricing Consistency
The Essential and Advanced packages remain at the same price points as before. We have not used this redesign as an opportunity to increase costs.
Clinical Oversight
Every screening is delivered by extremely experienced doctors at our Harley Street clinic. Results are reviewed by clinicians, not algorithms.
Our Approach
We do not believe in screening for the sake of it. Our packages are designed to detect conditions where early awareness genuinely changes outcomes.
Why a Dedicated Health Screening Website?
We have redesigned and relaunched healthscreening.clinic as a dedicated home for our screening services.
The new site makes it easier to explore our packages, compare what is included at each tier, and book directly. Screenings are still delivered at 117a Harley Street by the same clinical team.
