Dr. Arshad Hussain Rather is a distinguished Consultant Physician with over a decade of experience in Geriatric and General Medicine. Leading the Department of Geriatric Medicine at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), he specializes in the diagnosis and comprehensive management of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, complex chronic conditions, and multi-morbid patients.

Dr. Rather has an extensive background in dementia care, where he takes a holistic approach to managing cognitive disorders in older adults. His practice integrates cutting-edge medical insights with patient-centered care to improve quality of life for those affected by dementia and other geriatric conditions. In addition to his clinical roles, he leads specialized clinics for Parkinson’s disease and geriatric assessment, where he collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

As an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at UCL and an Honorary University Fellow at Plymouth University, Dr. Rather is actively involved in educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. He has contributed to key research in geriatrics, with published works on frailty, delirium, and dementia. His leadership in audit projects and clinical safety initiatives at UCLH has established him as a leader in the field, dedicated to advancing standards in geriatric care.
